Tracy B Designs — “Les Scraps La Fleur”
Throughout the years, I’ve created lots of items from pretty paper and fabric, and, in doing so, accumulated a large stash of scraps and remnants … which I just didn’t have the heart to throw away.
Always thinking thrifty and wanting to do my part to recycle, I toyed around with different ways to use my scraps. My favorite creations are fun flowers and embellishments made from bits of floral tone fabric and/or paper scraps, which might otherwise be thrown away. Not only is it a fresh way to re-purpose colorful scraps, but it’s also a green and eco-friendly craft.
With the intent to build a collection of items, I developed my signature brand of Les Scraps La Fleur creations. I’ve enjoyed a few memorable trips to Paris, (what girl doesn’t like Paris?!) and one of my favorite outings is strolling through the lively street markets, especially capturing the scents and colors of the beautiful flower displays – oh, what vibrant eye candy! At home, in my studio, surrounded by piles of scraps, I sometimes pretend I’m back on the streets of Paris… thus the name ‘Les Scraps La Fleur’ A fitting phrase that connects my love of Paris with floral tone remnants and fabric scraps.
My original scrap posies are very simple in design, and offer a fresh and vibrant style. They are great embellishments for note cards, gift tags, sachets, pillows, or pins. As I continue to expand my creations, my crafting process has also evolved. I’ve started adding more layers, more textures, and incorporate a lot more scraps in fun new ways, taking some of my La Fleurs to a whole new level! I’ve also been lucky enough to have a few friends graciously send their scrap goodies my way - giving me further selection and inspiration to create.
